The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our longstanding clients that are part of a global network specialising in the production, and distribution of industrial batteries and energy storage solutions.

Location: ST5 (Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stoke-on-Trent)

Job Type: Temp, initially for 4 months, with the possibility to lead to a permanent contract for the right candidate.  

Pay rate: £12.70 per hour.

Hours: Monday to Thursday (08:00 to 16:30) Friday (08:00 to 15:00) – 39 hours a week standard, with the possibility of overtime through the week and on the weekend paid at T1/2.

The role:

  • Overhauling / reconditioning of railway battery systems.
  • Assist in fault-finding, troubleshooting, and minor repair work on products.
  • Maintain assembly and calibration records and documentation.
  • Assembly, wiring and connections of electrical equipment and railway battery systems.
  • Working within a team to achieve required orders.
  • Carry out training/upskilling on relevant procedures and areas.
  •  Using a variety of different tools.
  • Comply with relevant UK standards and adhere to quality requirements.
  • Keep a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.

Requirements:

  • Background in mechanical assembly work or similar engineering environment is desirable
  • Best suited to someone with a technical or mechanical mindset.
