About the Role
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Maintenance team as an Apprentice Mechanical Maintenance Technician. This role offers hands-on experience maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and equipment used in our manufacturing operations. You will work alongside experienced engineers while completing a nationally recognized apprenticeship standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs on mechanical equipment, including hydraulic systems, conveyors, and production machinery.
- Support fault diagnosis and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Learn to interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
- Carry out routine inspections and lubrication tasks under supervision.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Participate in off-the-job training and complete all coursework required for the apprenticeship.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong interest in mechanical engineering and maintenance.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles (advantageous but not essential).
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4x GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science.
- Eligibility to enroll in the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician (ST1426) apprenticeship standard.
