Production Team Leader
Our client based in Stoke are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Chargehand on the night shift for their manufacturing plant.
The Galvanising Chargehand role is to assist the Finishing Supervisor in the day-to-day operation of the Finishing Department to ensure the night shift runs safely and efficiently whilst, ensuring resources are utilised to their maximum potential.
Working hours for this position are Monday to Thursday 18:30-05:30 (4-day week).
Duties - Production Team Leader
- Ensure all employees are wearing their PPE whilst in working areas.
- Ensure the work on the production schedule is cleared within the normal shift hours.
- Mentor inexperienced employees.
- Ensure the working area is free from clutter and that safe systems of work are being followed.
- Advise on appropriate safe method of unloading materials.
- Reporting any problems or accidents to senior management.
- Supervise the loading of zinc / other alloys into the bath.
- Ensure coating plant employees use appropriate lifting aids where applicable.
- Ensure employees working at height are tethered whilst working on the booth.
- Problem solving if issues arise with capacity/breakdowns.
Experience required - Production Team Leader
To be considered, candidates should have:
- Previous experience in a similar position within heavy manufacturing or engineering industries.
- Must have previous experience working night shifts.
- Exceptional people skills, a proactive work approach, and excellent communication abilities.
