Job Advert: Finance Business Partner

Be at the heart of operational performance...

We're on the lookout for a hands-on Finance Business Partner to take a pivotal role in driving the operational performance of our business. This is a true business-facing role where you'll work senior non-finance stakeholders, playing a key part in shaping financial decisions, influencing operational strategy, and ensuring profitability.

You'll gain high-level stakeholder exposure, have the opportunity to lead a small team, and get stuck into systems and process improvement projects - making a tangible difference to how the business runs day-to-day.

What you'll be doing:

  • Partnering with Operations: Become the go-to finance expert for operational stakeholders. Analyse costs, challenge assumptions, monitor trends, and guide decision-making.
  • Shaping Decisions: Develop clear, insightful financial reports and dashboards, and coach operational teams to strengthen their financial understanding.
  • Project Oversight: Track costs, flag risks and opportunities, and keep budgets on course.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support operational leadership in setting, refining, and managing budgets and forecasts.
  • Month-End Process Management: Take the lead on month-end and year-end processes - including reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting.
  • Driving Improvements: Proactively enhance management information, reporting systems, and business processes, helping us work smarter and faster.
  • Costing & Inventory Control: Lead and manage standard costing and inventory valuation processes, ensuring robust, accurate reporting and helping operational leaders understand performance drivers.
  • Team Leadership: Manage one direct report, working collaboratively to improve processes, develop skills, and boost team performance.

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent).
  • manufacturing finance experience (advantageous) - particularly with standard costing systems, processes, and reporting.
  • Experience within distribution centre operations is a bonus.
  • Solid background in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end processes.
  • A curious mindset with a keen eye for detail and a knack for making sense of complex data.
  • Highly competent in Excel - you'll be the person others turn to for clever, effective solutions.
  • A confident communicator who can translate finance jargon into clear, actionable insights for non-finance teams.

If you're looking for a commercially focused, operationally driven finance role where you can make a visible impact - this could be the perfect next step.
