Service Manager
Salary up to 39k with company car
Stoke on Trent - ST6
Hours & Pattern: Week 1 Monday to Friday 8.00am - 17.00pm / Saturday 8.00am - 12.00pm
Week 2 Monday to Friday 9.00am - 18.00pm

GI Group are excited to be working with a fantastic Commercial Vehicle dealer group who operate at a national level. Due to company growth, they are looking for an individual to join them in a Service Manager role within their approved Volkswagen dealership.

As a service Manager you will achieve service volumes and profit objectives by making effective use of available resources, through motivating and developing the Service team to be fully competent in their job roles and by ensuring that all customers receive excellent customer service.

As a service manager your duties will be as follows:

  • Formulate policies and procedures to achieve maximum sales of parts and labour
  • Maintain agreed profit margin and return on investment by efficiently controlling stocks, assets and all financial transactions
  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Maximise sales performance through a well-developed, motivated and efficient service team
  • Help Van Centre to achieve industry-leading standards of process efficiency
  • Ensure departmental compliance with company policies and industry guidelines
  • To review, coach and develop the Service team and to ensure all our trainees have a dedicated training programme and/or mentor in place. As well as completing appraisals to direct reporting staff.
  • Keeping up to date with all manufacturer's bulletins and information ensuring the updates are relayed to the relevant staff in a a timely manner.
  • Making sure our Company Code of Conduct for customers, suppliers and staff is adhered to at all times and maintaining the company's Integrity and Transparency policy.
  • Taking responsibility for all aspects of customer service, dealing with all business issues in a professional and timely manner.


As a Service Manager you should:

  • Brilliant leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Previous management experience within a Service Department
  • Clear vision in achieving business goals.
  • An ability to motivate and inspire team members to exceed targets.
  • An ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with both colleagues and customers.
  • An understanding of the demands of the role and the time and attention needed to produce impressive results.
  • A good eye for detail in recognising opportunities to help drive forward the succession of the Service business.
  • A methodical approach to work.
  • An ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Clean driving license


It would be advantageous if you had:

  • Volkswagen Product experience
  • VAG experience
  • Knowledge of Kerridge systems
