Aspire People are currently recruiting for a compassionate individual to join a supportive specialist setting as a Full-Time 1:1 Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or Teacher. This role is perfect for someone with a strong understanding of Key Stage 1 (KS1) teaching methods and experience supporting individuals with SEN

As the successful candidate, you will be supporting a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and communication difficulties, providing tailored support to meet their individual learning needs. Your focus will be on helping the pupil develop their communication skills, access the curriculum, and achieve their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD and communication difficulties.
- Assist in the delivery of pre-planned lessons, adapting teaching strategies where necessary.
- Implement strategies to manage and respond to the pupil's triggers and behaviour in a positive and supportive way.
- Support the pupil in building their communication skills using a variety of methods, including visual aids, sign language, or other communication tools.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of the pupil's progress and report regularly on their development.
- Encourage independence, resilience, and confidence in the pupil.

What You'll Need:
- A solid understanding of KS1 teaching methods and the curriculum.
- Experience working with children with ASD or additional communication needs is highly desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
- The ability to identify and respond to a pupil's triggers, creating a calming and inclusive learning environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt communication methods to suit the pupil's needs.
