VIQU have partnered with a leading entity in operational technology and digital transformation. Operating in highly regulated and demanding industrial sectors, they have successfully executed pivotal projects across energy, renewables, water, and manufacturing domains.
They are seeking an experienced Site Manager with an Electrical Engineering background to take ownership of site delivery across major UK infrastructure projects. This role is predominantly site-based and will suit a hands-on leader with strong knowledge of electrical installations, commissioning activities and UK construction regulations, who can successfully manage safety, quality, programme and customer expectations within highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities of the Site Manager:
- Oversee installation, commissioning and client acceptance of electrical, protection, control and automation systems across substations, generators and industrial sites
- Lead and coordinate site teams and subcontractors, ensuring work meets safety, quality, time and specification requirements
- Chair site meetings, manage documentation, and maintain drawings, quality systems, tools and welfare arrangements
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines and with quality, safety and environmental teams to embed best practice
- Support project management with resource planning, change control and programme delivery
- Monitor site performance and contractor competency to ensure safe and effective delivery
Key Requirements of the Site Manager:
- Proven experience managing electrical installation and commissioning projects
- Strong knowledge of UK construction and health & safety legislation, including CDM Regulations 2015
- Current BS:7671 18th Edition qualification and electrical installation experience
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work under pressure, with a structured and analytical approach
- Experience supervising multi-disciplinary site teams and subcontractors
- SMSTS (or equivalent) and relevant health & safety training (IOSH, working at height, confined spaces, lifting operations)
- Temporary Works Coordination/Supervision and Asbestos Awareness training
- Understanding of environmental and waste management legislation
- National Grid Competent Person status and familiarity with procedures and standards
- First Aid at Work certification
- Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel
