Senior Technical Engineer – £45,000 - £50,000 – Stonehouse, Gloucestershire

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced IT Managed Services engineer with expertise in Microsoft 365 & Azure. This role will focus on taking ownership of advanced technical issues, lead key infrastructure projects and mentor junior engineers.

You will also deliver high-level support across hardware, software, networks, and cloud services.

You'll manage technical escalations, lead projects and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our customers IT infrastructure—primarily across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a senior member of the IT Engineering community at a leading MSP
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for complex technical issues.
  • Lead projects including system upgrades and cloud migrations.
  • Conduct system checks, updates, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Experience of implementing MS Power Automate & Co-Pilot
  • Mentor and support junior team members to improve capability across the team.
  • Create and optimise SharePoint and Microsoft Teams set ups
  • Implement compliance features, including DLP, retention policies, and eDiscovery.
  • Contribute to cyber security audits and support preventative strategies.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for support tickets, projects, and procedures.
  • Be client facing to support in-life account reviews and business development.
  • Deliver an amazing customer experience!
  • Oversee and manage Microsoft Intune for device and application security.

The Person

  • Holds a relevant professional certifications (e.g. Microsoft Associate level)
  • At least 3 years’ experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure
  • Background working with a Managed Service Provider is desirable
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Confident managing projects and mentoring others
  • Positive and proactive approach to problem-solving
