We’re working with a respected, client-focused insurance broker seeking an experienced Commercial Claims Handler to join their growing team in the West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a broad portfolio of commercial claims and work in a hybrid capacity between Stourbridge and Birmingham offices.

As a key member of the claims team, you’ll take ownership of claims from first notification through to settlement, applying both technical expertise and client care to ensure a smooth, compliant, and fair process.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage a caseload of commercial claims, including property, liability, and professional indemnity
  • Liaise with clients, brokers, insurers, and third-party service providers
  • Register and track claims, coordinate with underwriters, and monitor progress
  • Carry out investigations where needed and attend client site visits post-loss
  • Advise clients on policy coverage and negotiate the best possible settlement terms
  • Maintain up-to-date records using internal systems (Websure, ECF, etc.)
  • Identify trends and provide input on claims strategy and risk mitigation
  • Assist with reporting, MI, and performance data when required

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years’ experience in commercial insurance claims handling
  • Solid knowledge of property, liability, and/or PI claims
  • Experience gained within a brokerage is essential
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with a client-first mindset
  • Working knowledge of claims systems such as Websure and ECF preferred
  • Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and work autonomously
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and professional under pressure
