We’re working with a respected, client-focused insurance broker seeking an experienced Commercial Claims Handler to join their growing team in the West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a broad portfolio of commercial claims and work in a hybrid capacity between Stourbridge and Birmingham offices.
As a key member of the claims team, you’ll take ownership of claims from first notification through to settlement, applying both technical expertise and client care to ensure a smooth, compliant, and fair process.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Manage a caseload of commercial claims, including property, liability, and professional indemnity
- Liaise with clients, brokers, insurers, and third-party service providers
- Register and track claims, coordinate with underwriters, and monitor progress
- Carry out investigations where needed and attend client site visits post-loss
- Advise clients on policy coverage and negotiate the best possible settlement terms
- Maintain up-to-date records using internal systems (Websure, ECF, etc.)
- Identify trends and provide input on claims strategy and risk mitigation
- Assist with reporting, MI, and performance data when required
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years’ experience in commercial insurance claims handling
- Solid knowledge of property, liability, and/or PI claims
- Experience gained within a brokerage is essential
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with a client-first mindset
- Working knowledge of claims systems such as Websure and ECF preferred
- Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and work autonomously
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and professional under pressure
