Job Title: Technical Manager
Location: Stourbridge
Salary: from 55k + benefits
Shift Patterns: 06:00 - 16:30 Monday - Friday (Must be willing to do overtime)

As Technical Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping processes, driving efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of quality. You'll be a hands-on leader with a passion for continuous improvement, mentoring, and technical excellence.
This role may also suit someone who isn't yet a Technical Manager but is technically talented, with strong process control and process management experience, and ready to take the next step in their career.
What you will be doing:
- Driving improvements in safety, efficiency, utilisation, and housekeeping across the site.
- Implementing best-practice process control tools to optimise yield and minimise waste.
- Coordinating testing programmes, certifications, and quality assurance protocols.
- Leading root cause analysis investigations and embedding corrective/preventive actions.
- Supporting transition from manual to automated grinding, reducing scrap and rework.
- Collaborating with suppliers, machinists, and customers to keep ahead of new technologies.
- Overseeing metrology, 3D scanning, and virtual assemblies, while developing team capability.
- Embedding a culture of "right first time, every time" throughout the department
What we're looking for:
- A strong background in castings within a foundry.
- Experience with process improvement, quality systems, and technical leadership.
- Knowledge of tools such as Magmasoft simulation would be an advantage.
- A proven ability to mentor, inspire, and manage technical teams.
- Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment.
- Someone either already in a Technical Manager role or ready to take that next step.
