Our client, a well-established and growing contractor within the fire industry is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, safety-critical projects across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.

With over two decades of experience in life safety systems, our client has built a strong reputation for quality, technical expertise, and reliability. They're now looking for a commercially astute professional who can support project delivery from pre-construction through to final account.

Key Responsibilities
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the effective commercial management of multiple projects, including:

  • Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and detailed valuations
  • Managing the procurement process, including subcontractor packages and supplier contracts
  • Administering interim applications, variations, and final accounts
  • Working closely with project teams to monitor budgets, progress, and costs
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
  • Supporting with tender submissions and contract negotiations
  • Ensuring projects remain commercially viable and profitable
  • Providing cost advice and reports to internal and external stakeholders

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a proactive, driven individual with strong technical knowledge and commercial experience. Ideally, you'll have:

  • 5+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
  • Experience within Fire Protection, M&E, Drylining, or a related specialist trade preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts
  • Excellent cost control, reporting, and negotiation skills
  • A solid understanding of subcontractor management and procurement processes
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with varying complexity
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
