Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive Assistant /Quantity Surveyor with hands-on experience in major adaptations for social housing. This role involves working with a detailed schedule of rates, handling variations, and managing valuations for projects that include ramps, bathrooms, extensions, and other major adaptations under the DFG framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and update the schedule of rates specifically for major housing adaptations.

  • Handle variations and carry out valuations related to bathrooms, extensions, ramps, and other significant adaptations.

  • Collaborate with the senior QS and the team to ensure projects remain cost-effective and within budget.

  • Engage with contractors and stakeholders to monitor financial progress and report on cost management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with major housing adaptations, particularly in bathrooms and extensions.

  • Familiarity with the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) or similar adaptation projects.

  • Strong skills in handling variations and valuations within a QS role.
