Salary: £42,000 £45,000 per annum (DOE) + Benefits

Set in the heart of Worcestershire, our stately country house hotel is a much-loved destination for both leisure and business guests. Surrounded by landscaped gardens and steeped in character, the property combines a relaxing countryside escape with modern facilities. The hotel features a popular restaurant serving fresh, seasonal menus, alongside impressive banqueting suites and conference facilities that host weddings, celebrations, and corporate events all year round.

We are now seeking a dynamic and creative Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and deliver exceptional dining experiences across all areas of the business.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will:

  • Lead and inspire a brigade of chefs, fostering a positive and professional kitchen culture.
  • Oversee all food operations, including restaurant service, weddings, banquets, conferences, afternoon teas, and private functions.
  • Develop and implement seasonal, locally inspired menus that balance creativity with consistency and appeal to a diverse clientele.
  • Take full control of kitchen management, from GP and stock control to rotas, ordering, and supplier relationships.
  • Uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with the General Manager and Events Team to ensure smooth service delivery for all occasions, from intimate dining to large-scale celebrations.

The Candidate

We are looking for a Head Chef who is both a strong leader and a passionate cook:

  • Experience as a Head Chef in a hotel or banqueting-led environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a small, focused team.
  • A creative approach to menu development, with a flair for modern British cuisine and fresh, seasonal ingredients.
  • Strong financial acumen able to manage budgets, control costs, and maintain healthy GP margins.
  • Organised, reliable, and resilient, with excellent communication skills and a calm, professional manner.
