An award-winning company is seeking an AAT Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant to join their growing finance team.
The role requires candidates to have at least 2 years of relevant experience and to be working towards AAT Level 4 or be AAT qualified.
Key responsibilities include supporting management accountants, preparing month-end journals, and assisting with bank reconciliations and purchase ledger activities.
The position offers a salary of £25,000 to £30,000, alongside benefits such as a contributory pension scheme, up to 25 days holiday, and ongoing training opportunities.
Candidates should have strong numeracy skills, excellent IT and Excel capabilities, and a high attention to detail.

I am working with an award winning, business leader in their field, to recruit a AAT Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant to join their dedicated finance team. This company has seen outstanding growth not just in the UK but overseas and offers a fast-paced environment, which will see you support multiple sectors with the services offered.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Management Accountants in the monthly management accounts process
Prepare and post accurate month end journals
Complete bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy
Assist with purchase ledger activities including invoice matching, credit notes, reconciliations, remittances and supplier queries
Provide cover for purchase and sales ledger functions during month end and team absence
Process cash postings and expense claims
Liaise with colleagues on sales ledger and debt collection matters
Assist with audit preparation and documentation
Maintain up-to-date procedure notes
Support wider finance projects and initiatives

What We’re Looking For

Working towards AAT Level 4 (or AAT qualified)
Strong numeracy skills with at least 5 GCSEs including Maths & English (Grade 4/C or above)
Experience with Sage 50 (advantageous but not essential)
Excellent IT and Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups etc.)
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm (40 hours per week) - Onsite
