Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

£80,000 - £85,000

Suffolk - 1 day onsite a week

We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team delivering highly scalable, cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role is hands-on and will see you at the heart of cloud infrastructure design, automation, deployment, and optimisation - with a strong emphasis on collaboration, best practices, and continuous improvement.

You'll work closely with development, operations, and security teams to deliver robust CI/CD pipelines, maintain Kubernetes workloads, and embed Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) throughout the delivery process.

Responsibilities:
  • Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform or ARM templates

  • Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps

  • Design, support, and optimise services running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

  • Automate manual processes using PowerShell, Bash, and scripting tools

  • Lead the implementation of security and compliance best practices, including RBAC, Key Vault, and Azure Policies

  • Work with engineering teams to ensure high-availability, disaster recovery, and proactive performance monitoring (App Insights, Azure Monitor)

  • Collaborate on incident resolution, deployment strategies, and performance tuning

  • Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of knowledge sharing and DevOps excellence

Experience:
  • Deep expertise in Azure infrastructure and services (AKS, VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, Key Vaults, etc.)

  • Strong scripting ability in PowerShell (and/or Bash/Python)

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, particularly in an Azure environment

  • Proven track record with IaC - Terraform or ARM templates preferred

  • Mastery of Git and version control workflows in a collaborative team

  • Comfortable in Agile/Scrum environments using tools like Jira and Confluence

  • Experience supporting production systems, including observability and monitoring

Desirable:
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., financial services, healthcare)

  • Working knowledge of MongoDB or similar document-oriented databases

  • Familiarity with Golang or Python to support infrastructure tooling

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-900)
