Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Precision EngineeringLocation: Suffolk Salary: £45,000 - £60,000Platform Recruitment is working with a leading UK manufacturer specialising in the design and production of precision-engineered equipment. They are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to spearhead innovative engineering projects, deliver product improvements, and provide expert technical support across multi-disciplinary teams.As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the full design lifecycle, producing initial concepts and product improvements. You will be responsible for generating 3D CAD models, developing prototypes, validating and testing new designs, and driving continuous product development to meet global industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:+ Solve complex engineering challenges using innovative solutions+ Create detailed 3D CAD designs and technical drawings+ Improve and enhance existing product ranges+ Prototype, test, and validate mechanical designs+ Mechanism and component design for precision applications+ Produce accurate Bills of Materials (BoMs)+ Collaborate with production teams to address technical manufacturing issuesKey Requirements:+ Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline+ Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor)+ Proven experience managing the full product lifecycle+ Solid understanding of a wide range of manufacturing processes+ Industry experience within rotating equipment, oil and gas, subsea engineering, or power generation sectors+ Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems would be advantageousIf you are a driven Mechanical Design Engineer looking for your next challenge within a dynamic, precision-focused environment, please submit your CV and get in touch.
