About the Role

Our client is delivering a significant infrastructure project in Benacre-a large pump station requiring deep expertise in heavy civils and NEC contract administration. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a high-impact scheme from the early stages, contributing to its commercial success while leading a dedicated commercial team on-site.

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key leadership role within the Regional Civils division. You'll be responsible for managing a small team of Quantity Surveyors and overseeing the full commercial lifecycle of the project-from procurement through to final account-ensuring value for money and commercial excellence at every stage.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the commercial team and working closely with subcontractors to ensure effective contract management under NEC conditions

  • Driving the commercial performance of the project, identifying opportunities to increase profitability and minimise risk

  • Developing strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and supply chain partners

  • Managing cost reporting, change management, and contractual compliance

  • Overseeing procurement processes and ensuring subcontractor payments are accurate and timely

  • Mentoring junior team members and building capability across the commercial function

  • Supporting business goals while ensuring safety, quality, and programme targets are met

What We're Looking For

  • Substantial experience in quantity surveying within heavy civils or infrastructure projects

  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and experience administering them on complex projects

  • Proven leadership capabilities and the ability to build high-performing commercial teams

  • Commercially astute, with strong skills in risk management, cost control, and contract negotiation

  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

  • Professional membership (RICS, CIOB, ICE or similar) desirable

  • Valid CSCS card required
