Warehouse Shift Manager - Stowmarket, Suffolk

£48k per year

We are excited to be recruiting for a brand-new state-of-the-art Distribution Centre in Stowmarket, Suffolk. This is a permanent opportunity offering the successful candidate the chance to join a thriving organisation in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.

Shift Pattern:
4 days on, 2 days off rotating shifts:
* 05:30 - 15:00
* 14:00 - 23:30
This rotation allows you to work only 244 days per year (compared to the traditional 260-day working year)

  • Role Responsibilities:
    * Lead and manage a team of approx. 250 colleagues via First Line Managers and Team Leaders
    * Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, stock put-away, picking, dispatch, returns, and recycling
    * Champion Health & Safety and implement process improvements
    * Collaborate cross-functionally with Inventory, H&S, Planning, and HR teams
    * Monitor and exceed KPIs, tackling performance issues where needed
    * Manage shift handovers, team briefings, and staff engagement initiatives
    * Drive resource efficiency across time frames and functional areas
    * Contribute to business planning and team development through PDPs and critical task setting

    Ideal Candidate Will Have:
    * Proven experience in a similar warehouse management role
    * Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems - Red Prairie or Blue Yonder is a bonus
    * Strong Microsoft Office skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    * A collaborative approach, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic
    * Passion for team engagement and continuous improvement
