Our client, a leading entity in the automotive industry, is currently seeking a Materials Design Engineer for a contract role based in Warwickshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a passion for materials design and development to contribute to innovative automotive projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducting research and studying the structures and chemical properties of various natural and synthetic materials
- Performing experiments and computer modelling to develop materials with new or enhanced properties
- Determining ways to strengthen or combine materials for use in a variety of products and applications
- Testing materials to ensure they meet specifications for mechanical strength, ductility, and resistance to various conditions
- Recommending materials that offer reliable performance in diverse environments
- Ensuring products meet all quality and safety standards through rigorous testing
- Managing projects or processes and working independently with minimal supervision
- Coaching and reviewing the work of junior professionals
- Experience in materials science or engineering within the automotive industry
- Advanced knowledge of material properties and computer modelling techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage projects independently and mentor junior team members
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- A relevant degree in materials science, materials engineering, or a related field is preferred
