Our client, a leading entity in the automotive industry, is currently seeking a Materials Design Engineer for a contract role based in Warwickshire. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting research and studying the structures and chemical properties of various natural and synthetic materials
  • Performing experiments and computer modelling to develop materials with new or enhanced properties
  • Determining ways to strengthen or combine materials for use in a variety of products and applications
  • Testing materials to ensure they meet specifications for mechanical strength, ductility, and resistance to various conditions
  • Recommending materials that offer reliable performance in diverse environments
  • Ensuring products meet all quality and safety standards through rigorous testing
  • Managing projects or processes and working independently with minimal supervision
  • Coaching and reviewing the work of junior professionals
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in materials science or engineering within the automotive industry
  • Advanced knowledge of material properties and computer modelling techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage projects independently and mentor junior team members
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • A relevant degree in materials science, materials engineering, or a related field is preferred
