We are seeking a confident, compassionate, and proactive Behaviour Mentor to support pupils in a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in East London. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children who may face behavioural or emotional challenges within the classroom.

Working closely with the SENCO, teaching staff, and pastoral team, you will support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis to help them regulate their emotions, develop positive behaviour strategies, and fully engage with learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with behavioural and social/emotional needs

  • Implement behaviour intervention strategies under the guidance of school staff

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

  • Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to the class teacher/SENCO

  • Act as a positive role model, promoting respect, inclusion, and resilience

  • Support pupils both inside and outside of the classroom environment

Requirements:
  • Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs

  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies

  • An understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
