Job Title: Site Engineer - Major Highway Development
Location: Gloucester (site-based)
Contract: 9-12 month Contract - Inside IR35
Rate: 430-450 per day
Start Date: ASAP
About the Project
We are delivering a major highway development in Gloucester and are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the team. This is a fully site-based role, offering hands-on involvement in a significant infrastructure project for a 9-12 month period.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to coordinate works and resolve on-site issues.
Monitor progress against programme and report any delays or risks.
Implement and enforce health and safety procedures on site.
Prepare site documentation, including daily reports, method statements, risk assessments, and quality records.
Ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
Support senior engineers and project management team in project delivery.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Tier 1 Contractor experience - essential
Proven experience on major infrastructure/highway projects
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) - mandatory
CSCS Card - mandatory
Fully site-based experience
Full UK driving license - essential due to site location
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
CAT & Genny / EUSR certification - ideal
Experience with large civils/groundworks operations

Proactive, solution-oriented, and safety-conscious
Able to work independently and take ownership of site responsibilities
