We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual lathe machines to produce precision components across a range of projects.

Working from technical drawings, blueprints, and verbal instructions, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality parts that meet stringent accuracy and finish requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate manual lathes and other workshop machinery to manufacture precision components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to ensure accurate production.
  • Carry out machining operations in line with production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Ensure that all work meets required quality standards, tolerances, and finish expectations.
  • Maintain equipment, perform routine checks, and identify any maintenance needs.
  • Support the wider team in meeting production targets and improving operational efficiency.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience operating manual lathes with strong knowledge of machining principles.
  • Experience with CNC lathes and an understanding of programming or editing is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
