Overview
My client is seeking an experienced CNC Setter to take ownership of a busy CNC Cell in a growing manufacturing environment. You’ll play a key role in maintaining smooth production flow, driving efficiency, and ensuring high-quality output across all machining operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC machines to achieve production targets.
  • Take ownership, ensuring utilisation and efficiency goals are met.
  • Complete traveller documentation and maintain accurate production records.
  • Coordinate machine maintenance and report any issues promptly.
  • Work closely with Production Engineering to resolve drawing or process queries.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise machining processes.
  • Conduct first-off inspections and quality checks on components.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and well-organised work environment.
  • Provide effective handovers between shifts.
  • Mentor apprentices or new team members within the Machine Shop.
  • Collaborate with the Production Team Leader and Manager on production schedules and priorities.
  • Minimise scrap and downtime through proactive problem-solving.

About You

Proven background in CNC setting, on lathes.

Experience with Mazak machines would be highly advantageous.

Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Confident conducting quality checks and working to tight tolerances.

Positive, proactive approach to teamwork and continuous improvement.

Comfortable working night shifts.
