Mechanical Fitter 

  • Hours: Monday to Thursday from 07:30 - 16:30 and Friday 07:30- 14:00
  • Salary - £14.42 per hour.
  • Location: Stroud 
 About the Role

You’ll be responsible for building and fitting mechanical and electrical assemblies from start to finish, working from engineering drawings and instructions. This is a varied and practical role that requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic components

  • Work on sub-assemblies and full product builds from scratch

  • Use hand and power tools for tasks such as cutting, folding, marking out, pipe bending and general fabrication

  • Carry out quality checks to ensure assemblies meet alignment, dimensions, and quality standards

  • Follow Health & Safety procedures at all times, taking responsibility for your own safety and others

  • Carry out other reasonable duties as required by the company

What We’re Looking For
  • A solid engineering background

  • Able to read and work from manufacturing and assembly drawings

  • Good attention to detail and a strong team player

  • Confident using a range of hand and power tools

  • Problem-solver with the ability to work on your own initiative

  • Some experience or knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems

  • Previous experience in vehicle fitting/fabrication is a bonus

  • Background in Aviation, Military, Marine or similar sectors is an advantage

  • Ability to read basic electrical schematics is preferred (but not essential)
