We're looking for a talented Electrical Design Lead to join our Design Engineering team on a Permanent contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, focused individual with a background in Electrical Engineering and experience leading electrical-biased projects. About the Role
As an Electrical Design Lead, you'll report to the Head of Design Engineering and initially manage one direct report-with plans to expand the team in the future. You'll play a critical role in delivering high levels of electrical engineering competence, modernising processes, and introducing innovative solutions to improve business performance.
You will:
- Lead the electrical design of in-house technical solutions.
- Oversee testing and implementation plans for electrical projects.
- Drive engineering design projects, innovations, and solutions both centrally and locally.
- Identify opportunities to enhance in-house manufacturing capability for engineering design projects.
- Champion new processes to boost innovation, in-house capability, and team development.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to improve reliability in existing automation fleets.
- Lead, inspire, and energise a team of technical experts to deliver high performance.
About You
To excel in this role, you'll bring:
- Experience in detailed product design and development within an automated environment.
- A strong engineering background with proven problem-solving and solution delivery skills.
- CAD/CAM software proficiency, with AutoDesk or Eplan experience.
- The ability to meet product development deadlines and quality targets.
- A track record of delivering improvements and initiatives in challenging environments.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent leadership skills to inspire and guide technical teams.
