Mechanical Technician / Fitter required in Stroud, Salary: £30,000 + Bonus Schemes + Overtime: Up to 15 hours/week at 1.5x salary, Working Hours:Mon–Thu: 07:30–16:30, Fri: 07:30–14:00 (early finish!) Standard: 40 hours per week contract, full time permanent placement.Benefits:

We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a leading name in the aerospace and mechanical engineering sector. If you have a solid engineering background and enjoy working on complex assemblies from the ground up, this is your opportunity to be part of a high-performing team producing world-class products.What You’ll Do
  • Carry out sub-assembly fitting and final assembly of products to exacting standards.
  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic components.
  • Build fabricated assemblies from scratch using skills such as marking out, cutting, folding, pipe bending, weld joint prep, and hydraulic/pneumatic runs.
  • Work from detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure alignment, accuracy, and finish.
  • Follow all Health & Safety policies and take responsibility for your own and others’ safety.
  • Support other production activities as required.

  • Engineering background with proven experience in a hands-on fitting/assembly role.
  • Confident in interpreting technical drawings and instructions.
  • Skilled in using hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a team-focused attitude.
  • Problem-solving mindset and practical technical knowledge.
  • Experience in vehicle fabrication/fitting an advantage.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical circuits desirable.
  • Background in Aviation, Military, Marine, or similar industries beneficial.
