Bennett and Game are currently working with a client within the Heavy Haulage industry currently looking to bring in a Transport Planner, this would be to support the delivery of an exceptional level of customer service, through an efficiently run transport operation. To deliver well executed transport operations through accurate, cost-effective planning. Ensure the submission of complex route notifications is completed in advance of vehicle movements.
Transport Planner Job Overview- Support the planning of all transport activity's in an efficient and profitable manner.
- Liaising with customers to ensure gaps in scheduling are filled.
- To raise complex route notifications in advance of vehicle movements.
- Complete custom clearance procedures.
- Build relationships and liaise with the relevant authorities to ensure route notifications are acceptable and approved.
- Co-ordinating with vehicle workshops to ensure vehicles and trailers are made available for scheduled maintenance and inspection dates.
- Provide a point of contact for all drivers and second men to ensure jobs are running to time, customers are updated of any delays and problems are resolved.
- Ensure drivers and second men are scheduled for training sessions.
- Provide drivers & second men with a detailed brief of their upcoming work.
- To ensure all jobs are accurately entered into the Transport Management System.
- Previous experience routing a fleet of HGV's.
- Previous experience working with abnormal loads.
- Full driving licence.
- Salary 30 - 40K DOE
- Standard working hours Mon - Fri
