Semi-Senior/ Senior AccountantSudbury£29,000 - £42,000

A well-established, client-focused chartered accountancy practice is looking for a Semi-Senior or Senior Accountant to play a key part in delivering core accounting, tax and audit services, plus support business planning and client advisory work.

Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review accounts for a portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, charities and not-for-profits.
  • Assist with statutory audits and ensure clients' compliance, offering insight into financial strengths and opportunities.
  • Support business planning and advisory services, helping clients improve performance and profitability.
  • Contribute to VAT, taxation, payroll, CIS administration services and self-assessment workloads.
  • Help manage relationships with clients in sectors such as construction, leveraging effective financial and management systems.
  • Use firm's technology stack to deliver efficient and accurate services.
  • Mentor junior staff, helping to develop their technical and client-management capabilities.

Personal Requirements

  • Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA) with sound technical knowledge and experience.
  • Strong experience in accounts preparation, audits, corporate tax and/or advisory services across varying entity types.
  • Excellent proficiency with accountancy software - Sage, IRIS, TAS Books preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, with adherence to deadlines and compliance standards.
  • Strong client relationship skills, delivering clear, practical advice in a personable manner.
  • A proactive, supportive team-player mindset.
  • Experience or interest in supervising or mentoring less-experienced colleagues.
