Children’s Home ManagerLocation: Sudbury, SuffolkSalary: £48,000 - £50,000Bonus: £5,000 Welcome Bonus + 21% Annual Bonus + On-call PaymentsDriving licence required: YesRole Overview:Key’s Group is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead our dedicated team at Head Lane, a children’s home in Sudbury. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing an Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) home and leading it to successful Ofsted inspections.Head Lane is registered for up to 4 children and young people, currently caring for 2 residents. The home recently received a “Good” rating across all areas from Ofsted, reflecting our commitment to high standards of care.Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and maintain outstanding care, ensuring the children’s progress and wellbeing are at the heart of all decisions.
  • Oversee daily operations and strategic development of the home.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to provide therapeutic support tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Act as a positive role model, fostering trusting relationships with both children and staff.
  • Mentor staff, organise work rotas, facilitate QCF Level 3 training, and manage performance reviews.
  • Manage the home’s budget and ensure financial efficiency.
  • Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of children and young people in your care.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years’ senior management experience in a similar residential children’s environment.
  • Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children and Young People’s Workforce.
  • Achieved or working towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Children and Young People).
  • Strong knowledge of The Children Act 1989, Children’s Home Regulations, and safeguarding practices.
  • Experience in budget management and financial oversight.
  • Full UK driving licence essential.
  • Flexibility to work on-call and provide out-of-hours support.
