We are seeking a proactive Shift Engineer to provide maintenance and engineering service support for a site in Sudbury. This role is crucial for driving improved performance, cost efficiency, and quality through effective maintenance strategies and engineering solutions.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Diagnose and address root cause issues using data and strong diagnostics to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Perform planned or preventative maintenance, utilising both mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Focus on proactive fault prevention and continuous improvement to enhance production efficiency.
  • Review production targets and balance lines to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
  • Coach equipment best practices to front line employees, both on the line and in the classroom, to ensure consistent knowledge and skills application.
  • Support and lead project initiatives within the plant to improve overall operational effectiveness.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficient in interrogating PLC code for diagnostic fault finding.
  • Multi-skilled with an electrical bias and relevant qualifications such as C&G 2365, 2330, 2360, 2351, C&G 2391, HNC, HND, or 18th Edition.
  • Extensive experience in high volume continuous production environments with expertise in PLC, pneumatic control, and strong diagnostic skills.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems, including motor drive controllers, fluid systems, steam and condensate systems.
  • Familiarity with machines such as Bucher Apple presses, Tetra/Alfa Laval fluid equipment, Sidel & Krones bottle blow moulding machines.
