Construction Planner

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Planner appointed as Assistant Construction Manager to support in planning, coordinating, and monitoring construction project activities on a 12-month contract basis. This role is ideal for someone with foundational knowledge of construction planning who is looking to grow their experience in a fast-paced environment while working closely with senior project staff.

Construction Planner Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Construction Manager in developing and updating Construction Schedules (6 weeks look ahead) using MS Project software, collecting information from Project Managers schedules, Contractor schedules and site operations constraints
  • Help in coordinating construction activities and ensure alignment with the construction overall timeline (6 weeks look ahead)
  • Support in tracking materials, labor, equipment, and contractor schedules
  • Chair weekly planning meeting and record minutes, action items, and follow-ups
  • Assist with preparing weekly progress reports and schedule updates
  • Communicate with contractors and suppliers to confirm scheduling and delivery dates
  • Help in identifying any scheduling issues and escalate them to the Construction Manager
  • Maintain organized records of project documentation, schedules, and revisions
  • Act as foreman of the site project material warehouse (equipment, instruments, valves), keeping materials sorted, stored in good and secured conditions and inventoried

Construction Planner Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in construction planning, coordination, or construction site administration
  • Good knowledge of construction processes and project lifecycles
  • Good knowledge with scheduling software MS Project and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and follow directions from senior staff

Construction Planner Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience assisting on chemical plant or infrastructure projects
  • Working knowledge of construction drawings and documentation
  • Willingness to work on-site and adapt to changing project demands
