Purpose of the role:
The purpose of theJunior Import Operativerole is to support the import team by handling documentation, customs clearance, and client coordination, while learning all aspects of import operations to ensure efficient and compliant delivery of goods.
This trainee position is designed for someone with a proactive mindset who is eager learn and develop within the company.
Main Responsibilities:
TheJunior Import Operativewill be trained across a range of import-related tasks, including but not limited to:
- Apply for import cites permits.
- Monitor pre-alerts from foreign agents & raise import files.
- Create records in the ERTS system ready for clearance.
- Handle files from start to finish.
- Ensure all relevant & legal documentation is in place for the customs clearance.
- Complete customs entries, ensuring it matches the instructions provided by the client.
- Ensure the client file is completed with the release information before delivery is organised.
- Support management to ensure we are meeting the clients needs.
- Represent the company by demonstrating high levels of customer service & a professional attitude at all times.
- Undertake additional duties, or assist other members of staff, as may be reasonably requested by the manager or Directors.
Essential Skills
- The ability to prioritise and organise own workload to tight deadlines.
- Strong Communication skills; the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both written and verbal.
- Be a team player, with the ability to work as a member of the Imports team as well as alongside members of staff within other teams, as required (essential).
Knowledge:
- Data management, keep accurate records for the department.
- Intermediate knowledge of IT - MS Word & Excel.
- Be a team player in the department and with members of staff from all other departments.
Mindset:

Desirable:
- Hold a full clean UK driving licence.

Benefits:
- Salary: 37.5 hour working week. £24,258 per annum.
