A Mechanical Design Engineer with strong CAD / FEA skills, an understanding of mechanisms, sensors and mechatronics and industry experience gained within a High-Tech Manufacturing Company, will join a thriving Company within the renewable energy industry. Applicants should bring a minimum of a 1st/2.1 Mechanical Engineering Bachelors or Masters Degree, possess proven design experience gained within a High-Tech industrial environment such as Aerospace, Automotive or Telecoms, as well as bringing a good understanding of end user requirements.

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will contribute to design, research and development with a focus on high quality outputs. You’ll conduct research involving thermal modelling and FEA modelling; working closely with acoustics, aerodynamics and electronic colleagues to assess the impact of mechanical design on system performance.

Key Skills and Experience will ideally include:

  • Minimum of 1st / 2.1 BSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
  • Proven 3D CAD design skills.
  • Experience of 2D drawing.
  • Mechanical design within a High-Tech Manufacturing environment (DFM).
  • An appreciation of Thermal modelling, FEA, Stress and fatigue modelling.
  • Working to stringent environmental and safety standards.
  • Exposure to Electronics principles, sensors, mechanisms, motion control and/or actuators highly beneficial.
