Quality Inspector (6-Month Contract) – Aerospace

Rate: £28.00 TO £35.00 PER HOUR (UMBRELLA) 

We are proud to be partnering with a leading Aerospace manufacturer in their search for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team on a 6-month contract. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in quality inspection within a regulated manufacturing environment, looking to contribute to a high-performing quality function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct mechanical inspection of company products using a wide range of hand measuring tools and other inspection equipment (CMM experience beneficial but not essential).

  • Act as a Designated Quality Representative (DQR) for product release on specific customer programmes.

  • Serve as Certifying Staff for the release of Civil Aerospace products.

  • Verify and review Supplier FAIRs and compile internal FAIRs to AS9102 standards.

  • Coordinate mechanical and electrical calibration with internal stakeholders and manage the Calibration Improvement Plan.

  • Produce accurate, detailed Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for internal and external communication.

  • Maintain supporting records for the calibration system using Microsoft Office tools.

  • Communicate effectively with all internal departments through reports and verbal updates.

  • Undertake mechanical inspection activities in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

About You
  • Proven experience in quality inspection within a regulated manufacturing sector (aerospace, automotive, defence, or precision engineering).

  • Good working knowledge of AS9102 and FAIR processes.

  • Hands-on experience with hand measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, gauges, etc.).

  • Experience with CMM equipment is advantageous but not essential.

  • Strong communication and reporting skills, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Proactive approach to quality improvement and problem-solving.
