Are you a dedicated, experienced and professional Fire and Building Safety Advisor looking for a new and progressive career? Our client are an award winning company based out of Sunderland and are looking for a fresh set of eyes to join their health and safety team.

The job:

Fire Risk Management: Providing advice and guidance to the Group on how to implement recommendations from the Group's fire risk assessment programme. Conducting fire risk assessments across all properties, preparing reports, and advising on implementation of recommendations.

Emergency Planning: Supporting the development and testing of emergency plans, including fire evacuation and stay put procedures.

Building Safety:Implementing and improving the Group's building safety management system. Providing building safety advice to stakeholders. Ensuring compliance with regulations and legislation.

Building Safety Regulator Compliance: Supporting the submission of Building Assessment Certificate applications to the Building Safety Regulator. Supporting the investigation of mandatory occurrences.

Collaboration: Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Working collaboratively to ensure a high-quality fire and building safety service.

Data Analysis: Analysing fire and building safety data to identify trends and emerging issues. Preparing reports and dashboards to present the information.

Requirements:

  • A minimum qualification of Level 4 certificate in a fire or building safety related discipline.
  • Knowledge of applicable fire safety legislation, guidance and standards, including the Building Safety Act 2022, the Fire Safety Act 2021, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Approved Document B, BS 9999, PAS 9980 and PAS 79.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Institute of Fire Engineers, at a minimum of Member level.
  • Eligibility to join the Nationally Accredited Fire Risk Assessors Register (NAFRAR) at Tier 3 (or willing to work towards)
  • A current full UK driving licence.
