Sonic Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Ecologist for a full-time hybrid position in Newcastle with a salary range of £25,000 to £30,000 (pro rata).
The role involves planning and delivering ecological surveys for various species and supporting the Ecological Clerk of Works.
Candidates must have solid consultancy experience, survey experience, and knowledge of protected species, along with CIEEM Grad membership or progress towards it.
A full UK driving licence and report writing experience, particularly for Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) and Protected Species Reports (PRAs), are essential for this position.

We're looking for an Assistant Ecologist to join a growing, values-driven consultancy that actually cares.

You'll plan and deliver surveys (bats, newts, badgers, birds - the whole lot), wrangle subcontractors, and support on Ecological Clerk of Works. You'll also get hands-on with maps, data, reports, and the occasional wellington boot emergency.

This role is for you if you have:

Solid consultancy experience (must-have, not nice-to-have)
Survey experience & protected species knowledge
CIEEM Grad membership (or working on it)
A full UK driving licence
Report writing experience (as in, PEAs and PRAs) is incredibly useful
