Our client, based in Sunderland, islooking for an Electrician to join their site team. The successful applicant will be responsible for all on site electrical equipment.

Hours of work would be37 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 4pm. Friday 8am - 3.30pm.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage, plan, and carry out electrical installations to infrastructure, buildings, and equipment, with responsibility for the general electrical maintenanceof the site.
  • Responsible for maintaining up to date records of electrical inspections and checks undertaken.
  • Lead on matters involving electrical installation, plant maintenance and electrical compliance and provide advice to the Engineering team on such as required
  • Plan and organise own workload in line with the business
  • Ensure the timely planning of all premises's management electrical inspection activity (including annual building inspections) and the recording and implementation of remedial works identified.
  • Make decisions independently and daily, in relation to safety and operational needs appropriate to the identified risk.
  • Analyse and interpret information, such as the understanding of technical drawings, manuals, and work specifications in order to identify and assess problems and develop solutions.
  • Completion of all related paperwork/documentation including job sheets, pre-work assessments, fault reports and material purchase requests.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with trade training, specifications, and manufacturers information by carrying out work in a safe and timely manner, including those relating to Health and Safety, such as COSHH, manual handling, asbestos, and working at height.
  • Attending and participating in meetings when appropriate and providing specialist technical advice on electrical matters at such meetings.
  • Installing new electrical systems, including lighting and heating, and maintaining such systems while upholding safety guidelines and complying with all relevant codes and regulations.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and domestic electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring of lighting, heating, and alarms systems.
  • Manage routine maintenance and testing on commercial and domestic electrical systems, and ensure installations are to manufacturer standards, including fire alarms and security systems.
  • Install all electrical systems to 18th edition wiring regulations, including installing heating and lighting systems.
  • Possess good knowledge of IEE regulations. City & Guild 2360 and 2382 qualifications, and inspection and testing certificate (2391).

Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving License
  • You must have completed either an electrical apprenticeship along with any of the following industry recognised qualifications; City and Guilds, HNC, HND, ONC, OND, BTEC, NVQ's, BS7671:2018.
  • You must have experience of installation of all electrical systems to BS7671:2018 (18th Edition) Wiring Regulations, including installing heating and lighting systems.
  • Possess good knowledge of IEE regulations, City & Guilds 2360 and 2382 qualifications, and inspection and testing certificate (2391).
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally in person or over the phone, and in writing to obtain information
