Tooling Maintenance Technician

2 Shift Pattern (Days and Backs) – will most likely go to 3 shifts later this year

Up to £41,000 per annum DOE

We are looking for a talented toolmaker to join the team of a growing manufacturing business based in Sunderland.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for checking, repairing and servicing of all assembly and press tooling equipment to ensure that machinery and equipment runs smoothly.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business during their time of expansion.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Repairing and maintenance of all assembly and press tooling equipment
  • Performing scheduled and planned maintenance to reduce breakdowns and improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Adhering to all legal and safety requirements including PUWER power press regulations, lifting and slinging
  • Supporting the procurement and management of spare parts and tools required.
  • Supporting the development of engineering apprentices through knowledge and skill sharing.
  • Leading planned maintenance activities, including technical improvement activities.

What we’re looking for  

  • Proven previous experience in a toolmaker, tooling or die maintenance role
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Structured, methodical approach to fault finding
