Vehicle Damage Assessor - Sunderland

Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per yearBonus: Performance-based bonus potentialHours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm (1 hour unpaid break)

Are you an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join our team at a busy, reputable vehicle repair site in Sunderland.

As a Vehicle Damage Assessor, you’ll play a key role in the repair journey—working closely with the production team to ensure accurate assessments, exceptional customer service, and efficient repair processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare computerised estimates using Audatex

  • Communicate with customers to provide updates and estimated completion times

  • Compile relevant documentation to support the repair process

  • Accurately record all estimate and repair data in the management system

  • Monitor vehicle progress through the workshop to ensure timely repairs

  • Negotiate repair estimates with insurance engineers when necessary

  • Liaise with insurance representatives regarding claims and estimates

  • Identify opportunities for additional non-insurance repair work

  • Conduct mobile and drive-by assessments where required

  • Maintain and secure allocated tools and equipment

  • Provide support to colleagues when needed to ensure smooth operation

About You:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Proven experience in vehicle damage assessment and estimating

  • Proficiency with Audatex estimating software

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • A customer-focused mindset and attention to detail

  • Full UK driving licence
