Job Vacancy: Nursery Practitioner - Full-Time & Part-Time
Location: Sunderland
Daily Rate: 108 - 120 (depending on hours worked)

About the Role

Empowering Learning is seeking enthusiastic and nurturing Nursery Practitioners to support private day nurseries in Sunderland. We have both full-time and part-time positions available with flexible working options.

You will play a vital role in creating a safe, stimulating, and caring environment where children aged 0-5 years can learn, play, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Caring for Children

  • Ensure the well-being, health, and safety of all children.
  • Support babies, toddlers, and preschool children through daily routines, including mealtimes, toileting, nappy changes, and rest periods.

Supporting Learning and Development

  • Deliver fun and engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Encourage exploration, creativity, and learning through play.
  • Observe, assess, and record children's development and progress.

Building Relationships

  • Create strong, trusting bonds with children and their families.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, sharing updates and progress.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a consistent and supportive environment.

Maintaining a Safe and Clean Setting

  • Ensure the nursery is clean, safe, and welcoming at all times.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and hygiene procedures.

Planning and Record Keeping

  • Assist with curriculum planning, observations, and child profiles.
  • Contribute ideas during planning meetings and develop new activity ideas.

What We're Looking For

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a nursery or childcare setting.
  • A genuine passion for working with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and child development.
  • A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude.
