- Assist in the preparation and processing of monthly payroll for all employees
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (e.g. tax, NI, pensions)
- Update and maintain employee payroll records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Respond to payroll-related queries in a timely and professional manner
- Liaise with third parties such as HMRC and pension providers
- Support audit and reconciliation processes as required
- Previous experience in a payroll role (preferably within the education sector or a similar environment)
- Familiarity with payroll systems
- Strong numerical skills and high attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A team player who can also work independently
- Knowledge of relevant payroll legislation and best practices
- Experience with education sector payroll processes or systems
- Duration:Â 6 months (fixed term)
- Location:Â Based in Sunderland, with potential for some hybrid working
- Start Date:Â As soon as possible
