Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant join a Sunderland based primary school, supporting young learners aged 7-11.

This is a fantastic and vibrant school where staff take pride in helping pupils become well-educated, well-rounded citizens.

The school is committed to nurturing each child's interests, personality, and individual needs. With a diverse student body, English as an Additional Language (EAL) plays a key role in the school's inclusive approach, supporting pupils from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • Have experience working in a transferable role
  • Follow personalised curriculum's and care plans to meet pupil's requirements
  • Work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of the curriculum through lesson planning and delivery
  • Set up lessons, equipment and activities within the classrooms
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for pupils
