Job Title: SEND Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a conscientious Learning Support Assistant who would thrive within a Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school.
This Sunderland based secondary school focuses strongly on preparing pupils for life beyond school, ensuring they reach the highest levels of personal achievement and development.

The successful candidate will bring relevant experience and transferable skills.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position given a successful trial.

The ideal LSA will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- Have experience of working in a transferrable role
- Work with the pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
- Follow personalised curriculum and care plans to meet pupil’s requirements
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the child’s curriculum through lesson planning
- Possess good classroom skills
- Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil
