Our client, a leading plastics manufacturer in Birmingham, is seeking a Metrology Technician with experience operating a CMM and a solid understanding of metrology.
The role involves performing precise measurements, creating analysis reports, and optimizing measurement programs using PCDMIS software.
Candidates should have proficiency in GD&T, dimensional analysis, and first principle measurement techniques.
The position offers a permanent contract with a salary dependent on experience, working Monday to Thursday from 07:00 to 16:00 and Friday from 07:00 to 13:00.
Additional benefits include 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays and employer pension contributions.

Performing precise measurement tasks using hand tools, shadow graphs, CMMs, and portable arms with scan capability.
Creating and analysing professional measurement reports (e.g., FAIRS/ISIR) to meet internal and external customer standards.
Writing, editing, and optimising measurement programs using PCDMIS software, ensuring high-quality standards.
Supporting NPI, tooling, manufacturing, and quality departments with metrology activities and GD&T expertise.
Promoting best practices and continuous improvement in measurement processes.

Metrology TechnicianEssential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

Experience operating a CMM
Good understanding of metrology
Proficiency in GD&T, dimensional analysis, and first principle measurement techniques.
