We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at a prestigious hotel in Sutton Coldfield, renowned for its high-end la carte dining. Working alongside our Head Chef, youll play a key role in delivering exceptional dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency, maintaining the high standards expected in a fine dining environment.

Key Responsibilities:Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including service and prep
Lead and motivate the kitchen team, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation
Oversee mise en place, stock control, ordering, and waste management
Contribute to menu planning and development of new dishes with a focus on seasonality and innovation
Maintain compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
Train and mentor junior chefs, fostering a positive and professional kitchen culture
Ensure smooth, efficient service during busy la carte dinner service
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous in a fine dining or luxury hotel environment
Exceptional culinary skills with a passion for modern British or European cuisine
Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food costing, and allergen awareness
Leadership and communication skills to manage and inspire a kitchen brigade
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards
Food Hygiene Level 2 (minimum) Level 3 preferred
Formal culinary qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
Experience with seasonal or locally sourced produce
Knowledge of wine and food pairings
