Location: Sutton Coldfield

Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 plus TLR 46132

Hours: 32.5 per hours

The Role

To raise the standards of student attainment and progress within the subject area and curriculum they oversea and be accountable for the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students studying in that subject.

The postholder will also help enhance the teaching practice of others, whilst leading, managing and developing the subject area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set high expectations which motivate and challenge students in a productive learning environment
  • Promote good outcomes by students, planning well-structured lessons
  • Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all students
  • Make accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Fulfil wider professional responsibilities with high standards of personal and professional conduct

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent
  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Focused on standards and positive outcomes
  • Adaptable - ability to adapt style to a variery of situations and people
  • Experience of dealing with sensitive and confidential student information
  • Ability to teach 'good or outstanding’ lessons
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection issues and procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of how children learn and how to motivate them
  • Experience of following procedures and instructions.
