A leading manufacturer of plastic products is entering an exciting phase of growth, expanding its operations and reinforcing its market presence with the launch of a brand-new UK production facility. To support this expansion, the company is actively seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer with a background in plastic injection moulding to join its team.
***£40,000-£50,000, Mon-Fri, 5% pension contributions, 33 days holiday (inc BH)***
As a Senior Quality Engineer, your primary focus will be to ensure the highest levels of quality throughout production. You'll also be responsible for maintaining and developing quality systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, managing customer audits and certifications, overseeing Health, Safety, and Environmental management, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Your leadership will help ensure customer expectations are met, regulatory standards are upheld, and operations run safely and efficiently.
Key duties of the Senior Quality Engineer:
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive process improvements and enhance product reliability
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems in line with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001
- Lead audits, inspections, and risk assessments across the site
- Oversee non-conformance management, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective/preventive actions
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints and quality issues
- Champion health, safety, and environmental initiatives, ensuring compliance with HSE legislation and internal policies
- Ensure appropriate calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment
- Provide regular reports on key QHSE metrics and performance to senior leadership
To succeed in the role of Senior Quality Engineer, the ideal candidate will:
- Have proven experience in a Quality Engineering role within a plastic injection moulding environment
- Be experienced in creating, implementing, and managing systems that meet the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001
- Hold NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certifications
- Possess sound knowledge of environmental and H&S legislation, along with best practice implementation
- Have experience in customer audit preparation and certification processes
- Be qualified to HNC/HND/degree level in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline
