You’ll play a vital part in supporting the company’s strategy to expand its in-house electrical delivery capability and strengthen its position within the utilities market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret tender documentation, drawings, and technical specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Carry out cable sizing, voltage drop, and protection calculations to support pricing and design assumptions.
  • Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to ensure alignment with installation methods and delivery programmes.
  • Source and evaluate third-party quotations for MCCs, PLCs, and specialist control equipment.
  • Contribute to clear and persuasive proposal submissions, including technical write-ups, risk registers, and commercial summaries.
  • Identify cost-saving and value engineering opportunities through structured analysis.
  • Provide full project handovers and ongoing support to delivery teams following contract award.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure access to accurate market data and competitive pricing.
  • Support business development activities through proactive tender follow-ups and participation in pre-contract discussions.
  • Assist in developing standard pricing libraries and mentoring junior estimators as the team grows.
Other Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across all activities.
  • Uphold company values and contribute to a collaborative, professional team environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Essential:
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Installation.
  • Strong knowledge of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
