Line Engineer 6-Month FTC with High Potential to Go Permanent
Location: Sutton InAshfield| Full-Time | Fixed Term (6 months)
£48,000| Shift-based work 12 hours days and nights

Are you a hands-onEngineer with a passion for precision, quality, and problem-solving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? Were looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contractwith strong potential for a permanent role for the right candidate.

Join a dynamic production team where your input directly contributes to meeting our customer commitments. Youll be working across all production departments, reporting to the Production Manager, and leading the charge on ensuring efficient, safe, and quality-driven operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operateproduction lines safely and efficiently to meet quality and delivery targets

  • Conduct regular quality checks and make necessary adjustments

  • Minimise downtime through rapid problem identification and resolution

  • Support team members and coordinate daily production tasks

  • Perform routine and reactive maintenance tasks

  • Drive continuous improvement projects and lead handovers

  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure compliance with all safety procedures

What Youll Need:

  • Time-served apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification

  • 35 years' experience in FMCG

  • Solid understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems

  • Confident with technical documentation, SOPs, and changeovers

  • Strong communication, team-working, and decision-making skills

  • Experience in tooling reconditioning, fabrication, and welding is a plus

KPIs Youll Impact:

  • Safety incident reduction

  • Line efficiency & downtime logs

  • On-time in-full (OTIF) delivery

  • Spoilage and quality control metrics

  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) execution
