Our client is a successful and well-established manufacturer, they are looking for a Quality Assurance Officer to join their team.Â
You will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of product and process quality. Your focus will be on monitoring procedures, ensuring compliance with quality systems, and identifying opportunities for continual improvement. You will act as a key link between production teams, support functions, and senior management to uphold our reputation for excellence and ensure our products meet all customer and regulatory standards.
This is a hands-on role where you will conduct factory audits, document control, sample testing, and data analysis while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.
Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts, Days only (working hours to be discussed during the interview stage, an example would be 7am-7pm). Occasional weekend or out-of-hours work may be required to support production or audits.
Salary: £29,983

Essential:
Due to the location of site, you must have a full UK driving licence and your own transport.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or QA environment.
- Good understanding of quality systems, documentation control, and audit readiness.
- Knowledge of HACCP, internal auditing, and QMS.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and standards precisely, with good communication skills.
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Understanding of regulatory and customer standards.
- Ability to assess product quality and complete audits accurately.
- Proactive, organised, and capable of working independently and in teams.
Desirable:
HACCP Level 3, Food Hygiene Level 3 /Â Experience in FMCG or rendering industry / Understanding of ISO9000, GMP+, BRC, APHA/DEFRA / 3+ years in QA roles / Internal Auditor certification
Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining, monitoring, and developing quality systems within the factory, reporting findings to the Quality Manager/Head of SHEQ. Regularly review procedures in response to legislative changes and stakeholder requirements.
- Support compliance with legislation, environmental, and customer standards
- Monitor and report on product quality, including CCP compliance
- Conduct internal quality audits and inspections across factory processes
- Carry out daily factory walks and hygiene inspections
- Update and control quality documentation and records
- Collect, prepare, and submit product and swab samples
- Maintain quality control equipment and lab materials
- Support customer and authority audits by preparing documentation
- Address quality complaints and collaborate on corrective actions
- Train staff on quality standards and best practices
- Conduct validation checks (NIR scans, lab result verification)
- Drive cost savings and improvements in quality and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues
- Actively participate in SHEQ culture and reporting (e.g. near misses, pest control)
